Link elements (also called the anchors) are among the most used and popular HTML5 elements. When you click on these elements you will be directed to a website that is promised in the anchor element (i.e. in the displayed text). However, there might be a situation where the promised URL is not the same as the destination address. This is potentially dangerous and might put you at a security risk especially if the destination URL is not a safe website. There are some addons for the browser called - Link Revealers - which are designed to show you the real address behind anchor elements. Please use this page to see if your revealer addon is working as promised or not.

As mentioned above, this web application is designed to particularly test link revealer addons. To do this task, five link ekements are designed and presendted here.
(a) The first link element has a href which has the same origin as the page domain. These link elements are generally the safest links in webpages. Please hover on this element and see if you can see the real href behind the anchor element.
(b) The second link element has a href which has a different origin from the page domain. Clicking on these elements will direct you to a new website, therefore you need to know the real address before clicking on these elements. Please hover on this element and see if you can see the real href behind this anchor element.
(c) The third link element promises a website in the front text content, therefore when the user clicks on this element the destination URL must be the same as the promised one. Please hover on this element and see if these two addresses are the same before clicking on the link.
(d) Similar to the above link, the fourth link element presented here promises a website in the front text, but the destination URL is different than the promised one. In general, these links are dangerous and must be investigated before clicking on them. Some addons will warn you (i.e. alerts) when you hover on these elements or you are about to click them. Please hover on this element and see if you can see the difference between the promised URL and the real address.
(e) The last link presented here does not have any address (href attribute). These kinds of links are generally placed in websites to serve as buttons but have the appearance of link elements. They could be tricky as the user might see them as simple links and usually click on them without any cautions. Please hover on this element and see if your revealer add-on shows you the empty href attribute for this element or not.
