A handy and easy-to-use tool to convert any text to natural sounding voices via HTML5 native TTS engine. Simply type any text, select a language and dialect from the drop-down list and then click on the speak button to start.

This web application is designed to convert any text to natural sounding voices. It is working purely based on the native HTML5 - TTS - API and supports 60 languages. Type any word or sentence in the text area within the app, and then click on the speaker button to hear the speech. As the app is running, the related text will be highlighted in the text area. Please note that clicking on the speaker button again will pause the current speech. Before using the app, please make sure to adjust the appropriate language and dialect from the drop-down list. This app is working in all modern browsers and uses the - speechSynthesis - API in JavaScript. If this API is not supported in your browser, then this app won't be able to work and the speaker icon turns to red color.

To work with this web application, simply type any word or sentence in the above text-area. Adjust the appropriate language and desired dialect (is available) and then click on the speaker button to start. You can see the highlighted words in the text area as the app is speaking. Please note that when you type a text in the text area it will be stored in the browser's memory so the next time you open the app, the last used text will be loaded in the text area. Since the app is using the - localStorage - in your browser, and it has limitations for storing depending on your browser and platform. Please do NOT type or paste a very large text because the app may encounter errors or crashes. The best practice is to perform the text to speech paragraph by paragraph.

Text to Speech app is also available as a browser extension. As an extension, this app does not need an internet connection and can be used offline in your browser. Download links for three popular browsers are as follows: Chrome, Opera, Firefox.
